unique gifts for the hard to shop for man…

guys don’t you hate it when you get weak-ass gifts?!  i know i do.  i basically tell people to not buy me anything…not even a gift card.  then when they give you that cable knit sweater with a basset hound applique on the front, all you can do is smile/grimace and muster up all your acting skills and graciously thank the person for the gift!

so ladies, i went around to a quite a few stores and online to compile a list of gifts for the man you’ve either bought everything for…or for the hard to shop for man…..  take a look.  and grandma, you knew good and damn well i wasn’t gonna wear that sweater!!!  i’ll be adding to the list every sunday, so check back in from time to time.

Como Canteen - get rid of those annoying behind water bottles, and water costs too freakin much anyway.  sure carrying around fiji and evian water bottles were cool…in the 80′s!  they’ll never see this coming, and they’ll actually want to use it.  you’ll be saving them money as well.  the two piece set will cost you about $100 and can be purchased at www.uscanteen.com.

A Bouquet of Flowers - don’t be fooled, a guy is gonna grin from ear to ear in receiving a bouquet of flowers just as much as you!  it gets the people at the office to talking and it lets the women know he’s a man worth having…and keeping.  i’m pretty sure about 95% of men have never received a floral arrangement. flowers to consider:  Birds of Paradise, Sunflowers, Bonsai trees and any folliage.  my personal favorites can be found at www.proflowers.com.

Tiffany & Co. Men’s Accessories

ladies, you’re not the only one that wouldn’t mind seeing that little blue box.  Tiffany & Co. has a wide array of men’s gifts.  a nice money clip will set you back anywhere from $125-250, but the look on his face will be well worth it.  Tiffany & Co. isn’t just for women..check these out.  of course these can be purchased at www.tiffany.com.

Cuddler Chair from Z Gallerieso you’re sick of the raggedy behind recliner in your living room or bedroom?  order him this and i promise you, the chair will live up to its name.  i sat in this thing in the store and i was sold.  it is incredibly comfortable.  there should be one in every living room, den and bedroom…  can be purchased at www.zgallerie.com, at a cost of $899.

Stray Fedoras - these hats make the perfect unexpected gift, just in time for spring.  not only are they good for providing a little bit of sun shade, but they also finish off a outfit nicely.  every time i try one on, it makes me want to step my style game up.  no matter how casually you may be dressed, add a straw fedora and the look becomes instant vintage.  check out these styles…

Swiss Army Gear - there was a time that every young man got one of these for their birthday, and they were pass it on as a family heirloom to younger generations of men.  the tradition should be brought back.  these are knives that last lifetimes.  they are rugged, useful and worth the investment.  every man wants a needs a reliable instrument in their possession, and you can’t many more uses of of a product like you can a Swiss Army Knife.  besides, everyman has a bit of MacGyver in them, Swiss Army tools just lets us live out the fantasy a little better.  can be purchased at www.swissarmy.com

A Picnic in the Park - how simple is this?!  pack a lunch: sandwiches, fruit & cheeses, wine/sparkling cider, water, plates, wine glasses, a blanket and a mp3 loaded with tunes.  then stop by his office and surprise him, make him take the rest of the day off, and take him to the lake or a neighborhood park for a beautiful day of relaxing and talking. in my opinion, both men and women are forgeting the act of simple romantics.  when was the last time you actually went on a picnic?!  make it happen.  you both will appreciate the downtime.  who knows what levels of communication you two can breach, lying on a blanket in the sun doing nothing…..  www.epicnicbasket.com has some of the most traditional and romantic baskets, check them out!

A L. L. Bean Extra Large Cotton Hammock - there is something about spring and summer spent in a hammock, pretending to read, only to fall asleep.  nothing beats catching a nap outdoors, surrounded by trees, birds and a cool breeze.  get an extra large one so there’s room for you of course.  doing nothing never felt so good!  the hammock i’ve always wanted can be purchased here:  http://bit.ly/cK5QDW

Big Green Egg Grill - i have been hearing about these things for Lord knows how long, and have yet to know someone with one personally.  this kamado style ceramic grills are a true status symbol of true grillers, and are made right here in America.    they’ve been around since the mid-70′s, and have quite a loyal following.  so there’s no way i can’t include this in the His List, because hell i want one too!  they can be used as a smoker,  grill and oven.  so if you happen to purchase one of these.  go to www.biggreenegg.com for you closest retailer.
